The New York Police Department is conducting an internal investigation into two officers after shocking video showed them mocking a man in distress.
Footage from the alarming ordeal was filmed on Wednesday and shared to Twitter the next day, showing a nearly empty Midtown Manhattan street as the city maintains shelter-in-place orders to curb the coronavirus.

A distressed man can be seen making his way down the street as police drive slowly in their patrol car.
An officer soon get on the intercom and tell the man to 'shut the f**k up,' as he begins making an assortment of unintelligible remarks.
A policeman repeatedly tells the man to shut up and the two go back and forth. The patrol car pulls over to the side of the road so the officer can continue his verbal onslaught.
The cop can be heard screaming an assortment of derogatory remarks to the man, repeatedly demanding that he shut up.

In a statement shared later on Thursday, the NYPD said the incident occurred while the officers were patrolling in Midtown Manhattan.
'This incident was put under investigation immediately and that internal investigation will be conducted as expeditiously as possible,' they added in the statement.
