President Donald Trump has praised a Republican candidate for Congress in Baltimore after she shared a campaign ad that showed abandoned homes and neighborhoods overrun by poverty and crime in the Democrat-run city.
Kimberly Klacik, 38, posted the campaign video Monday in which she claimed to walk the 'real Baltimore' to show 'the reality for black people' in the historic town.
The video, which had been viewed 5.6million times as of Tuesday night, took a hit at the city's Democratic leaders who she said had let Baltimore descend into 'abandoned homes, poverty and crime'.
Klacik, described as a rising GOP star, is running again for the 7th District seat left vacant by the late Rep. Elijah Cummings after she lost the special election in April.

'Kimberly will work with the Trump Administration and we will bring Baltimore back, and fast,' Trump wrote of the up-and-coming candidate late on Tuesday, retweeting her video.
'Don't blow it Baltimore, the Democrats have destroyed your city!'
Klacik was effusive in her reply to Trump.
'The time is now. Thank you, Mr. President,' she replied.
'It's one thing to go viral for 15 minutes, it's another to better lives of thousands of people that have been neglected for decades.'
Klacik had appeared on Fox News earlier on Tuesday amid calls for her to appear at the Republican National Convention next week.
In the now viral video shared this week, Klacik appears in a red dress and heels, inviting viewers on a walking tour of 'real Baltimore'.

'Do you care about black lives? The people that run Baltimore don't. I can prove it. Walk with me. They don't want you to see this,' Klacik says
She walks past crumbling and boarded up homes as she tells how Baltimore is in the top five most dangerous cities in America and has a murder rate that is ten times the U.S. average.
'This is the reality for black people every single day: Crumbling infrastructure, abandoned homes, poverty and crime. Baltimore has been run by the Democrat party for 53 years. What is the result of their decades of leadership?' Klacik continues.
'How are children supposed to live here and play here?
She then tours further through dilapidated areas of Maryland's 7th Congressional District as she blasts both national and local Democrats for defunding the police.

Klacik speaks to three black Baltimore residents, asking if they agree with defunding the police, to which they all say 'no'. One replied that he had three sons who were killed in the city.
'I think if we defund the police in the city, it's going to be worse than that. So no, I'm opposed to that,' he added.
'What are you going to defund the police for?' asks another. 'How do you defend your city? Your community? Families are losing people.'
She adds how the Baltimore poverty rate is over 20 percent and claims homicide, drugs and deaths are skyrocketing.
Baltimore had 348 homicides last year - the fifth straight year topping 300 - making it the city's most violent year ever per capita.
According to Klacik, the majority of crime in the city is against black people who make up 60 percent of the population.
'It's not just Baltimore, the worst place for a black person to live in America is a Democrat-controlled city. It's 2020, name a blue city where black people's lives have gotten better,' she states. 'I'll wait'.

'The Democrat Party have betrayed the black people of Baltimore. If the politicians walk the streets like I do, they would see exactly how their policies and corruption affects us,' Klacik continues.
In the video, Klacik also urges black residents to throw out Rep. Kweisi Mfume, 71, a former president of the NAACP who beat her in the special election to fill Cummings' seat after his death last year.
She lost the election by almost 49 points.
'Democrats think black people are stupid. They think they can control us forever, that we won't demand better and that we'll keep voting for them forever, despite what they've done to our families and our communities,' she says.
'All black lives matter. Our communities matter. Baltimore Matters. Black people don't have to vote Democrat,' Klacik concludes.

She won the GOP primary in early June to challenge Mfume again.
She hopes to achieve an upset in November despite her loss earlier this year in the majority black district.
Democrats outnumber Republicans by more than 4-1 in the district, which includes a significant portion of the city of Baltimore and parts of Baltimore and Howard counties.
The diverse district includes areas of Baltimore that struggle with poverty and violent crime, and more affluent areas and such landmarks as Johns Hopkins Hospital.
The 7th district attracted national attention last year when President Donald Trump referred to it on Twitter as a 'disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess' where 'no human being would want to live'.
At the time, Cummings was the powerful House Oversight Committee chairman, leading multiple investigations of the president.
Much of Maryland leans Democrat but the Baltimore suburbs can sometimes swing Republican.
Klacik is just one of a growing number of black GOP candidates mounting insurgent campaigns with Trump-like messaging this year.
Others include the Trump-pardoned former inmate Angela Stanton-King who is running to replace the late John Lewis in Georgia.
'I'm a proud Black woman who supports @realDonaldTrump. I'm done with the Democrat Party lying to my community,' she has said of her campaign.
'I'm running for Congress to end the lies once and for all.'
