A New York City police officer caused a stir by posting a provocative TikTok video of herself 'goofin' around in uniform.
Christine Galgano, a housing officer in the Bronx, recently shared the video of herself performing a parody of the iconic 'new boot goofin' skit from the Comedy Central show Reno 911.
In the clip, which has since been deleted, Galgano is seen wearing the top half of her NYPD uniform along with a pair of booty shorts and a cowboy boots as she channels the eccentric Lt Dangel.
'Genuine ostrich...three payments...I'm just goofin' …new boot goofin', oh!' Dangel's recorded voice says as Galgano dances on the screen.
The video quickly went viral on social media, landing Galgano in hot water with her superiors at the NYPD.

Galgano joined the NYPD in 2018 and works as a housing officer in the Bronx. She is very active on social media, often sharing photos and videos about her workouts
It appears that the video violated the department's social media policy, which bars officers from posting images of themselves 'in uniform and/or displaying official identification without authorization'.
NYPD spokeswoman Sgt Jessica McRorie confirmed that the department opened an investigation into Galgano's video, according to the New York Post, and said that the situation was handled by her commanding officer.
McRorie said Galgano recorded the clip when she was off duty but declined to comment on whether the officer was disciplined.

Following the news of the investigation several people took to Twitter to decry the idea that Galgano could have been reprimanded for the video.
'Appears to be the absolute best thing about the NYPD...!. Best press they’ve had in years,' one user wrote.
Others noted that it would be silly to punish Galgano for the silly performance when other officers have engaged in far more concerning conduct.
'NYPD murders and abuses people but this woman not wearing pants is the real issue,' a critic wrote.
'It's because violence is ok but sex is not,' another added.

Galgano joined the NYPD in 2018 and has an active social media presence, often sharing details about her workout routines and her battle with lupus with her 12,000 Instagram followers.
In March Galgano revealed that she had been diagnosed with COVID-19 and urged others to stay home to keep themselves safe from the virus.
The officer did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com's request for comment about her TikTok video.
