During a segment on ‘Your World with Neil Cavuto’ on Tuesday Neil Cavuto sounded the alarm that more draconian shutdowns may be coming in NYC, New Jersey and Connecticut because of a spike in Covid cases and because the governors in those state don’t trust their citizens to do the right thing.
Host Neil Cavuto asked Fox Business personality ‘Kennedy’ if she thought more recent crackdowns on bars and restaurants in the region was a portent of things to come.
“It is weird, Kennedy, because we’re getting these spikes and other cases, in the New Jersey, New York area, Connecticut to a lesser degree, they are spiking again, they are revisiting the old thing, close restaurants by 10:00 PM, no drinking after that point,” Cavuto said.
“I’m just wondering whether they’re setting the stage for something more severe? What do you think,” he asked.
Kenned replied “They are. And the long-term deficits of these type of protracted shutdowns will be almost impossible to remedy. And the longer you go, the harder it is to get back to what we want new as normal.”
“And people feel demoralized because they look at their friends and neighbors in other states and they realize that there are governors and mayors who trust people to listen to, mask mandates, to stay 6 feet apart from each other, to bathe the Purell and everything else we know how to do, and they are having more success doing that.”
“It’s just very interesting that a lot of these places where they have a dim view of human nature, they are seeing spikes in cases,” she added.

This makes an excellent point.
In places where the political leaders, primarily Democrats, take a dim view of human nature, they are seeing an increase in Covid cases.
The lesson is clear, trust people to do the right thing and mandates do not work. They in fact make things worse.

KENNEDY: “They are. And the long-term deficits of these type of protracted shutdowns will be almost impossible to remedy. And the longer you go, the harder it is to get back to what we want new as normal.
And people feel demoralized because they look at their friends and neighbors in other states and they realize that there are governors and mayors who trust people to listen to, mask mandates, to stay 6 feet apart from each other, to bathe the Purell and everything else we know how to do, and they are having more success doing that.

CAVUTO: “You know what’s weird about it, we don’t have much time, but Germany was doing all the right things. One of the first on the masking, one of the first separating people, distances, they’ve got the spikes.
Japan now also has some spikes to worry about. They were doing everything right. France, Italy. So sometimes everything you want to do by the book, you’re still looking at spikes.”
KENNEDY: “You know where they don’t have spikes? New Zealand and Sweden. Because people there know how to have a good time. Volvos and Kiwis, Neil, it’s the new yes.”
