President-elect Joe Biden and wife Jill Biden attended an early morning church service Friday to mark the 48th anniversary of the president-elect's first wife and baby daughter's death.
On December 18, 1972, just weeks after Biden won election to the U.S. Senate at the age of 29, his wife Neilia was driving with the couple's three children - Beau, Hunter and baby daughter Naomi - when she was hit by a tractor-trailer truck and killed.
Naomi also perished in the accident, while Beau and Hunter were seriously injured.
