A baby was killed and two other children injured in a shooting as they sat in the back of a car in New York.
The incident took place in Syracuse at 6.51pm on Sunday evening.
The three girls were in the backseat while their mothers were in the front of the car driving through the Strathmore neighbourhood when shots were fired into the vehicle from a passing car.
The baby and two other girls, ages 4 and 8, were hit by gunfire through the back windows of the car.

Shakema Buckmon, the driver and mother of two of the injured, drove away and made it a mile further to a relative's home when they realised the children had been hurt.
'They drove away as they were being shot at. After she realized the children were injured, she stopped and called 911,' Investigative Bureau Chief Derek McGork said.
The three girls were sent to Upstate Hospital where the 11-month-old later died.

Buckmon told NewsChannel 9 that they had been on their way to the grocery store on Sunday evening when the shooting took place.

'I tried to save her. I tried. I tried to save my baby cousin. I tried to save her. But it was too late,' she said.
The 11-month-old baby who died has been identified as Dior Harris.
Her grieving mother, Desiree Seymore, said her baby was playful and full of life.
The two children injured were identified as 3-year-old and 8-years-old girls.
One of the older girls was hit in the hip and the other was grazed by a bullet that came just inches from killing her, authorities said.
They are both in a stable condition.
Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh described the incident as an 'unimaginable tragedy'.
'This tragedy is the definition of senseless. How could anyone in their right mind point a gun at a vehicle in broad daylight with children in it?'
In a vigil held in honor of Dior on Monday evening, Buckmon announced that an arrest had been made in connection with the shooting, according to a report in Syracuse.com.
