Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R) officially has a primary challenger.
Former Democrat Vernon Jones announced he would be running for Georgia Governor — as a Republican!
Fox News reported:
A former Democratic state lawmaker in Georgia, who switched to the GOP after backing then-President Trump’s reelection bid, on Friday announced a 2022 Republican primary challenge against Gov. Brian Kemp, who sits high atop the former president’s list of political targets.
The former lawmaker, Vernon Jones, tweeted Thursday evening, “The time has come. Georgia is ready!” He announced that he would hold a press conference Friday morning outside the Georgia state capitol building, in downtown Atlanta, to announce his candidacy.
Jones endorsed and voted for Trump in the 2020 election.
On January 6th Vernon Jones officially announced that he would be joining the Republican Party.
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has come under fire from Conservatives due to the 2020 election.
Kemp certified an election with numerous irregularities still not explained.
Hundreds of thousands of ballots did not have proper chain of custody documentation.
Trump has blasted Kemp for his handling of the 2020 election.
In a tweet from December Trump called for Kemp to resign.
Hearings from Atlanta on the Georgia Election overturn now being broadcast. Check it out. @OANN @newsmax and many more. @BrianKempGA should resign from office. He is an obstructionist who refuses to admit that we won Georgia, BIG! Also won the other Swing States.
