In January 2021, US Rep Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), who was elected during Barack Obama’s first term as president, became one of America’s most despised Republicans when he voted in January with fellow Trump-hating Republicans like Rep. Liz Cheney (MO), Rep. Peter Meijer (MI), Rep. Fred Upton (MI), and Senator Ben Sasse (NE), to impeach Trump.
Kinzinger took his dislike for Trump to a whole new level when he announced in February that he formed a new PAC to challenge Republicans who still support Trump.
On February 16, The Daily Mail reported that Illinois Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger released a scathing handwritten letter he received from a number of his relatives, calling him a ‘disappointment to God’ and a stain on their family’s name for backing the impeachment of Donald Trump.
Kinzinger told the New York Times he received the disparaging note just two days after calling for Trump to be removed from office following the Capitol riots on January 6.
Penned by 11 members of his extended family, Kinzinger was accused in the letter of being in cahoots with ‘the devil’s army (Democrats and the fake news media)’ for publicly opposing the then-president, and requesting the 25th Amendment be invoked against him.
‘Oh my, what a disappointment you are to me and to God!’ the letter, dated January 8, begins. ‘We were once so proud of your accomplishments! Instead, you go against your Christian principles and join the “devil’s army”.’
‘How do you call yourself a Christian when you join the “devil’s army” believing in abortion!’ the note continues. ‘We thought you were “smart” enough to see how the left is brainwashing so many.’
Kinzinger’s family then go on to accuse him and ‘many other GOP members of being ‘brainwashed’ by Democrats and ‘falling for their socialism ideals.’
The cowardly Kinzinger, who has no chance of winning re-election in his district as a Republican, announced his retirement on Twitter:
I’m proud to have served #Illinois for six terms and look forward to what's next. I'll continue to fight for truth and transparency, for principled leadership and proven solutions, for hope and opportunity.
Thank you for this great honor, #IL16. Here’s to the next chapter! pic.twitter.com/vZu8NFET5e

While he may no longer be a member of Congress after January 2023, it would be foolish to believe he doesn’t have another job lined up already. Perhaps he’ll work for George Soros—or maybe he has a job the Southern Poverty Law Center, CNN or Media Matters, but make no mistake, the Trump-hating “Republican” lawmaker is not leaving his job in the swamp without having a prominent role on the Left.
