Newly released testimony from two IRS whistleblowers alleges that President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, threatened a Chinese business partner for payment by invoking his father.
The revelation was made in an announcement on Thursday from House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO) during a press conference about allegations that the Biden administration sabotaged the criminal investigation from U.S. Attorney David Weiss into the president’s son.
One of the IRS agents told the committee that in August 2020, investigators obtained messages from an iCould search warrant but prosecutors “denied investigators” requests to develop a strategy to look into the messages and denied investigators’ suggestion to obtain location information to see where the texts were sent from.”
One of the messages obtained by investigators was a WhatsApp message sent from Hunter Biden to Henry Zhao on July 30, 2017.
According to the transcript provided by the Committee, Hunter Biden wrote:
I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight. And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.
Henry Zhao is a Chinese Communist Party official, according to Peter Schweizer, and was business partners with the daughter of China’s former minister of state security.
“Zhao was also a key figure for Biden prospects in China,” Schweizer wrote. “His fund participated in BHR, where Hunter Biden received a board seat.”
