Detroit struggles with the availability of its emergency services, mainly with having enough police to cover the area, resulting in people’s safety being put at risk. The city also has a high rate of violence and property crimes. Communities have been coming together to try and combat this, but rates are still high.

Cleveland is known for having a high crime rate. For example, U.S. News writes, “The metropolitan area’s violent crime rate was higher than the national rate in 2020. One benefit of Wilmington may be that it has a low cost of living, but its crime rates are still particularly high. This mainly involves property and violent crimes, and the city even faces countless nicknames because of its high crime rates. There have been ongoing strategies to try and reduce crime, such as community initiatives.
